Reality above expectations.

For most students going into their internship, they expect just to get coffee for people and do paperwork. But on a rare occasion, that isn't the case. I have experienced that rarity.
My first day was pretty interesting. I was introduced to signal chains and techniques on how to daisy chain guitar pedals for the best sound. That was helpful because I have been around bands for years and never knew the precise way to do so. Another great thing that I've had the privilege of doing this first week was going out and scouting for talent. I would love an A&R position at a record label so this was right up my alley. I met a couple legitimate musicians and even managed to recruit one of them to play on my radio show sometime this semester. That equals success in my book.
Overall, my first week was well spent learning and getting to know my coworkers. Being surrounded by musicians is something that I've missed since I lived back home and the fact that I'm using it to further my career now is exciting in a whole new way. Here's to hoping next week will be just as eventful.
