"A person who trusts no one can't be trusted."

According to any teacher of broadcasting, networking is key in being successful in the business. This also happens to be the opinion of my boss. The past week has been filled with meeting with bands and artists managed by Devil's Rope Studios. There have been cookouts, jam sessions and practice spots but more importantly,  I'm getting hands-on experience with how the business really works. You have to build relationships with your clients in order to work in such an intimate setting with them. When a musician composes a song it's like a gateway into their soul. And when they choose to bring you into their world, they have to be able to trust you. So it's all part of the job.
As far as editing software, I have been learning how to use Sonar. The concepts are industry standard so they aren't too terrible to learn. Also, I'll be learning how to use ProTools in the next week or two. For that, I can't wait.
